ACCESS RULES TO UNILU DATA

Preamble

       The Department of Geology of the Faculty of Sciences has developed databases for its archives on one hand, and its library in the other hand. These metadata are available in the library of the Faculty of Sciences in the Department of Geology. Part of the geological and mining archives (mainly mining aspects) stay at the library of the Faculty of Engineering. Geological and mining archives contain valuable information on the geological settings; data on deposits of various minerals, groundwater resources, mining ... The DB library contains information on various materials: books, scientific articles, magazines and periodicals.

      With the computer support, catalogs and files that are available to them, users of the library of the Faculty of Science and Faculty of Engineering will ease to locate the documentation available in the UNILU Heritage. For proper management of this tool, this Regulation applies to all.


I. RULES OF ACCESS TO THE DOCUMENTATION

Article 1 : The library operates under the supervision of the Directorate of Libraries of the University, and the daily management is ensured by two officers delegated by the management. They are also under the responsibility of the local sponsor of the project.
Article 2 : The library is open to all faculty members including scientific and academic staff, students of sciences and polytechnic faculties, and all those outside who wish to consult the documentation. However, to access the library or enjoy the services, UNILU members named above are required to take a subscription with library officials.
Article 3 : For other public, the consultation begins with the search of the information available on the website “rdcmining.org”. The second phase involves on-site consultation in the library. To do that these people are required to complete an information sheet and pay, where applicable, fees for consultation.
Article 4 : The consultation of all documents on site is exclusively for all students under the supervision of library officers.
Professors and other lecturers can either consult on the spot, or make a limited loan only for scientific works to prepare teaching or scientific research. For that, the user must complete and sign a consultation form and give it to the library clerk 24 hours before the loan. The signature on this form engages the responsibility of the holder on the conservation status.
Article 5 : The geological and mining archives consultation should be done on site. Data copies or transfer to third parties without going through the procedure established is prohibited.
Article 6 : Access to storage cabinets is restricted to agents appointed to the library. They are the only person entitled to receive requests for consultation of books and other library materials.

II. HOURS OF LIBRARY AND PRICES

Article 7 : Hours of consultation or access to the library range from 9:00 to 3:30 p.m.
Article 8 : The requested documents for consultation on site must be returned to the librarian before the closure of the library, or for teachers in deadline set by the manager.
Article 9 : Any reproduction of archival documents by photocopying or scanning is prohibited.
